City Music Society Recitals

Since 2006 the City Music Society has provided an annual platform for selected RPS Young Artists to perform a lunchtime recital in the City of London.

City Music Society was founded in 1943 by Ivan Sutton and has promoted over 2200 lunchtime and evening concerts in the City of London. Its six evening concerts per year are presented in the magnificent Hall of the Goldsmiths’ Company and, over the years, many of the finest musicians in the world have performed there.

The Society also prides itself in providing opportunities for young artists to perform at the start of their careers and its Tuesday lunchtime concerts at Bishopsgate Institute have featured many international stars before they were well-known, including Julian Bream, Jacqueline du Pre and Andras Schiff.
