The Royal Philharmonic Society is for people who love music and live music making…and who want to ensure a vibrant future for classical music. For almost 200 years we’ve played a vital role in championing talented young performers and composers and in encouraging audiences to listen - and talk about - great music.
Ralph Kirshbaum, International Cello Soloist: For 40 years London has been a base for my concert and teaching activities, I endorse and support with gratitude the indispensable work of the RPS.
Over 130 new works have been commissioned by or dedicated to the RPS since 1813. Nearly half of these were commissioned since 2000.
