RPS Music Awards Nominations
The Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards give the classical music profession an independent voice to tell the world what we do best.
Nominations for the 2012 awards, which celebrate achievements during the calendar year 1 January - 31 December 2011, are now closed. This year there are two changes to the award categories designed to reflect the wider breadth of work now being undertaken to engage new audiences and performers:
- Education becomes Learning and Participation
- Audience Development becomes Audiences and Engagement
There are 13 categories of award which span the full spectrum of live music making. See the list of categories and criteria.
RPS Chairman, John Gilhooly, comments: “The RPS Music Awards bring the highest calibre work of the classical music profession to public attention. In difficult financial times the advocacy of this respected and independent Society is a powerful endorsement for any artist or performing group.”
The Shortlist will be announced in April, and the RPS Music Awards will be presented at a dinner at the Dorchester Hotel on Tuesday 8 May 2012.
