The Susan Chilcott Scholarships, patron Placido Domingo, were established in memory of Susan Chilcott, one of the outstanding singers of her generation, who died from cancer in 2003 aged 40.
Offers: Funding for professional classical singers for advanced training or career development. Awards may be given for studies at a recognised conservatoire or with a recognised teacher, but applications are also welcomed from professional singers wishing to study a specific repertoire with a teacher or coach, or who require language training.
Frequency: Annual - as a guide 6-10 scholarships have been given each year
Open to: UK national singers over 21(no upper age limit)
Entrance requirements: Selection of candidates is by audition and interview. Applicants must complete an application form, supply a written resume which clearly states the uses to which the scholarship would be put and demonstrate financial need.
Next closing date: Friday 7 January 2011 (Due to a recent revision of audition dates there will be no scholarships awarded in 2010)

Susan Chilcott won the RPS Music Award for Singer in 2003 and the scholarship is administered by the Royal Philharmonic Society on behalf of the Chilcott Scholarship trustees.
