For nearly two hundred years the Royal Philharmonic Society has been associated with classical music of the very highest standard. With its continued support for musicians, and in particular for young performers and for music education, the Royal Philharmonic Society is helping to ensure the future of British music making.- The Rt Hon Chris Smith, MP
The future of classical music is uncertain. The Royal Philharmonic Society strives to secure this future by nurturing talented performers and equipping them for a rich professional life; stimulating composers to write work which excites and challenges; inspiring audiences to engage with the music that they listen to and initiating debate on issues at the forefront of musical thought.
Our vision is for classical music making of the highest possible quality to hold an essential place in contemporary cultural life.
