Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Foundation Grants Awarded

Sir John BarbirolliThe Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Foundation was established after the death of the renowned conductor and Royal Philharmonic Society Gold Medallist Sir John Barbirolli and offers financial assistance to help music students purchase their own instruments while undertaking their professional studies.

This year, grants totaling £19,500 have been awarded. Funds were shared amongst 21 students from major conservatoires across the UK, and grants were given towards the purchase of a wide range of instruments, including piccolos, double basses, French horns, bassoons, a guitar and a violin.
